The Adelphoï Owner Map describes four stages that closely held businesses typically move through as they grow. Each stage has its own character—its own strengths, struggles, and hidden risks.
Most owners recognize themselves in one stage more than the others. The value of the map is not simply to locate yourself, but to understand what the transition to the next stage requires and what patterns from earlier stages may be holding you back.
These stages are not rigid categories. Many owners straddle two stages, or find that parts of their business operate at different levels. The map is a tool for clarity, not a box.
