The middle of the org is where execution lives.
If reporting structure is unclear, three things happen:
- Problems hide.
- Decisions stall.
- Accountability gets blurry.
Clear structure doesn’t mean bureaucracy. It means:
- Everyone knows who they report to.
- Everyone knows what “good” looks like.
- Everyone knows where issues go.
When structure is clean, issues surface faster and get solved at the right level.
What to do this week
- Draw your org chart as it actually operates, not as you wish it operated.
- Define three outcomes each role owns.
- Set a weekly check-in rhythm between each leader and direct report.
